Statutes / Canon of the foundation Mission for Unity International
We are as Koinonia Community International are part of the Foundation Mission for Unity International who is an Interdenominational Charismatic non-profit organization who have a goal to equip the body of Christ and make them spiritually more mature in servanthood, leadership. We call up to reconciliation, we like to encourage the restoration of the spiritual Unity between Christians, Churches, and denominations. Mission for Unity don’t choose for just one church our denomination, but like to unite the body of Christ. By serving the total body of Christ,we are called up to spiritual Unity into the body of Christ among all Christians worldwide.
To worship God and to give the Holy Spirit the total freedom.
Jesus says in John 17:21-26 (Aramaic-English translation)
21"That they all shall be one, just as you, my Father, are in me, and I am in you so that they also shall be one in us so that the world shall believe that you have sent me."
22"And I have given them the glory that you have given me so that they shall be one, just as we are one." 23"I in them and you in me, so that they shall be perfected as one, and so that the world shall know that you have sent me and that you have loved them just as you have also loved Me." 24"Father, I will that these whom you have given me, that where I am they shall also be with me, that they shall see my glory which you have given me because you have loved me from before the foundation of the world."
25"My Righteous Father, although the world has not known you, I have known you, and these have known that you have sent Me." 26"And I have revealed to them your Name, and I am revealing it so that the love with which you have loved me shall be in them, and I shall be in them."
We are Christians of different Church denominations. All who are involved with Mission for Unity are a member of their Church.
All who are involved with Mission for Unity are a member of their Church. We are Anglican, Catholic, Evangelical, Protestant, Orthodox etc....
We recognize the following statements of Christian Faith:
Athanasian Creed, Nicene Creed, Apostolic Creed.
As Community we are part of Mission for Unity International, we stand behind the Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification.
We long for the unity as described in John 17: 20-24.
We recognize the authority of the Bible as God's Word!
We believe in the functioning of the Holy Spirit and we desire that He has total freedom to function in the body of Christ without limitation.
The Councils
Mission for Unity International & Koinonia Community International receives as Ecumenical the Seven General Councils whose dogmatic decrees are today accepted by all Apostolic Churches of the East and West, viz: - (1) Nicea, 325; (2) Constantinople, 381; (3) Ephesus, 431; (4) Chalcedon, 451; (5) Constantinople, 553; (6) Constantinople, 680; (7) Nicaea, 787.
We are Ecumenical: In simple words, ecumenism is the furthering of religious unity among the different Christian faiths.
The true meaning of “Christian unity” was echoed by Jesus when He prayed for His disciples. "That they may all be one.
As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us... Father, are in me, and I am in you, may they also be in us... "[John. 17:21] In other words, that all Christian faith is of one mind in the Spirit of Truth.
Regarding the subject of unity, the Apostle Paul said, "May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." [Rom. 15:5-6] Speaking to the Corinthians, he said, "Now I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose." [1 Cor. 1:10] "Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you." [2 Cor. 13:11]
The Metropolitan Platon Gorodetsky (1803-1891) of Kiev had a saying that 'the walls of separation do not rise as far as heaven'.
We are Interdenominational: Ecumenism is, by definition, interdenominational.
It is important to remember that the Body of Christ is interdenominational.
We may choose labels for ourselves and others—and such labels have their place—but Jesus never assigned denominational tags. He said,
“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (John 6:37).
The Body of Christ is made up of “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord” (Acts 2:21), and the gospel of salvation by grace through faith unites believers, despite our differences.
Heaven will forever be interdenominational, as “every nation, tribe, and tongue” (Revelation 5:9) will worship the same Lord in harmony together forever.
We are Charismatic: We are part of the charismatic renewal, a worldwide movement that functions inside and outside the traditional non-traditional churches. We believe that each one has received charismatic gifts from the Holy Spirit,
1 Peter 4:10-11, "As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever."
The Bible lists many charisms, including:
1 Corinthians chapter 12 lists gifts of Service, Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Discernment of Spirits, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, Helping, Administration, Teaching, and Pastoring.
Romans 12:6-8 lists gifts of Prophecy, Ministry, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leadership, and Mercy.
Romans 12:4-6, "For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them."
We recognize the ministry of “Ephesians 5:11-16 ‘’And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, bishops 1 Timothy 3:1–7, deacons (Acts 6:2)
Christ is not divided into parts, and neither can His body be divided. In Matthew 12:24 He warned, “…Any Kingdom that is divided against itself is being brought to desolation and laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will last or continue to stand.”
As members of the church, the body of Christ, we are powerless if we are filled with prejudice and disharmony.
The agreement Between each other brings power and Unity.
which means Community: the word community comes from the old Greek word:
κοινωνία: koinonia, one of the places we find this word is in 1 Corinthians 10:16
where the bread and cup of the Lord’s Supper are described as a “communion our Community” in the body and blood of Christ.
The best definition of communion is “participation.” When you become in Community, you keep your identity as a Church or Ministry, but you participate and become spiritually connected with those who are part of this community.
It means we become spiritually a family. The word Community has the word unity which means.
We are in unity together, but we are also diverse in the way we function because we have different
gifts and talents and ways of functioning.
